iPhone section 3.3.1 SDK change rocks the developer world
The now fully unleashed storm created by Apple's change to the latest developer agreement is pretty fascinating to say the least. Anyone wanting to build an iPhone app without learning Cocoa is now SOL the third party developer platforms that existed in order to facilitate using other languages (ie PhoneGap, Titanium, Adobe's Flash CS offering, MonoTouch, etc) for iPhone development have basically been rendered null and void.
As a C sharp developer, this is pretty maddening. And I can only imagine how the companies that created these products feel. Not to mention all the people that have apps built on these platforms. Ouch.
One wonders if Steve Jobs has forgotten Apple's own history and how Windows came to be the dominant OS for the desktop. And given the velocity with which the Android OS seems to be gaining traction, and the fact that the Windows 7 Phone OS seems to be a halfway decent offering, one can also start to speculate on the man's sanity.
