Windows 7 Phone to support Silverlight and XNA for Apps
Looks like Windows 7 Phone apps are going to be developed in either Silverlight or XNA. This is great news for .NET developers as they won't have to learn a whole new framework in order to develop apps.
Windows Phone 7 seems to be getting a lot of hype and good press, even though it isn't coming out until Q4 of 2010. Given that Google's Android is really starting to gain traction, and that Apple should be releasing a new iPhone 4G in June, one wonders if Q4 will be too late for consumers to care.
Assuming that the phone is able to gain some market share, I would think that developers and companies might stop moving towards native apps for the phones and start building out web sites that simply fit the mobile screen form factor. Nobody wants to be supporting multiple apps for multiple operating systems.
